It comes standard with the Ubuntu install.

GStreamer is a pipeline based multimedia framework written in the C programming language with the type system based on GObject. GStreamer allows you to create a variety of media-handling components, including simple audio playback, audio and video playback, recording, streaming, and editing. The pipeline design serves as a base to create many types of multimedia applications such as video editors, streaming media broadcasters, and media players.

You can browse by Genre, Artist, Album and Titles. Seraching is also possible

Composer and multiple values are not supported.



You can edit the tags but the number of tags is limited, composer is not supported, multiple entries are not supported (quartet; strings)


Playlists and auto playlist are supported.


There a a couple of plugins available.



It plays MP3, APE but ignores the CUE, FLAC en WAV but not WMA.

As usual tagging WAV is not supported.


This players interface is a bit to primitive to my taste.
