| You can see a hell of a lot disk I/O is going on at startup. | Playing audio using J River.
|
In the second graph you see what happens when playing audio.
In this case I'm using the J River MC14 memory playback option.
Memory playback loads the entire audio file in memory so no HD access during playback
If I have to believe the resource monitor:
- the audio file access the hard disk with a stable rate of 85000 B/s
- other programs accesses the HD as well
So before you post on a audio forum about the great improvement in sound quality you obtained by using memory playback, check the performance monitor first!
